Jennifer Hawkins is SVP, Head of Emerging Businesses, North American Personal & Business Banking.  Appointed in February of 2022, Ms. Hawkins brings a wealth of knowledge in the payments area.  Her passion for innovation and commitment to building strong relationships – with key co-branded partners, stakeholders and across her team have shown her to be a proven leader known for her authenticity and collaborative approach.

Since joining the bank, Jennifer has accelerated the growth strategy for payments in both Canada and the U.S. while also improving employee engagement and customer satisfaction.  Through greater investment, stronger acquisition and account management strategies, the payments business is now gaining market share while effectively managing risk. 

Prior to joining BMO, Jennifer spent 20 years with Amex Bank of Canada, most recently as Vice President & General Manager of their Merchant Services business, accountable for the acquisition and client management of American Express merchants across Canada, and as a sitting member of their Canadian Executive Team.

She was also Vice President & General Manager, Consumer Card & Partnerships, where she was responsible for consumer products portfolio and led the development of a cohesive product line strategy in a challenging market.

In addition to Jennifer’s contributions to BMO, she sits on the board of directors for Moneris.  Jennifer is also past chair of the board of directors at Markham Stouffville Hospital, and past Chair of Junior Achievement of Central Ontario. Jennifer is also an Alumna of The Judy Project: a Leadership Forum for Executive Women at Rotman School of Business; University of Toronto

Ms. Hawkins received her Masters of Business Administration at the University of British Columbia along with her Bachelor of Commerce, Marketing and International Business from McGill University in Montreal.
